Historical society revisits Ft. Abercrombie

At its Monday afternoon meeting, the Richland County Historical Society featured guest speaker Gerald Lubenow, who spoke on the more esoteric history of Ft. Abercrombie. Attending guests were so captivated they took notes, said museum archivist Marjo Johnson.

Walk for the Poor to be held on Northshore

The St. Vincent DePaul Society’s annual Walk for the Poor will be held Sept. 25 at the Mandeville lakefront on the corner of Jackson Street and Lakeshore Drive. There is no rain date. The date is set by National SVDP on the Saturday closest to the Feast Day of St Vincent DePaul, Sept. 27.
